Barber arrested after fatal scissor attack

KOT ADDU:

A man was killed and his brother severely injured in a quarrel over teasing a sister in Kot Addu on Friday.

The incident led to the arrest of the accused and the barber involved.

Police said Muhammad Ayaz Bhatti, a resident of Ward 14, Ghareebabad, filed a case at the City Police Station. The complaint stated that the accused, Muhammad Iqbal and Adnan Bashir, were sitting in Mumtaz Park when they heard a commotion at a local barber shop.

Upon arrival, they found Umar, the barber, holding Muhammad Bilal Bhatti.

During the altercation, Bilal, alias Balla David, attacked his brother Muhammad Bilal Bhatti with a pair of scissors, resulting in Bilal's death.

Khizar Abbas Bhatti, also present at the scene, was injured when accused Asif Sheikh struck him with the scissors.

The accused attempted to flee but were caught and detained by locals, who handed them over to the police.

In the process, Bilal sustained a broken leg. The police have registered a case and arrested both the accused and the barber.

SHO City Nasir Abbasi stated that a forensic team has collected evidence from the scene.

He assured that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and appealed to the youth to remain calm and patient, emphasising that minor disputes can lead to devastating consequences for families.
