ISLAMABAD:

The leadership of Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) met with National Party President Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Friday to chew over the pressing political issues, including attacks on the judiciary and restoration of the constitutional supremacy while bringing back the "true representatives of the people to the parliament".

The meeting included PTI leaders Asad Qaiser and Omar Ayub Khan, National Party Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi, and BNP leader Sajid Tareen. The overall political situation of the country was discussed in detail and the situation of Balochistan was discussed in particular.

PTI leader Asad Qaiser conveyed the message of TTAP of relentlessly resisting the ongoing injustice to the leadership of the National Party.

During the meeting, Asad Qaiser emphasised that the rule of law was the bedrock for the country’s progress. "We cannot move forward without the rule of law," he stated.

PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan stressed that the constitution is currently hanging by a thread and underscored the urgent need for its restoration. "There is no solution to the problems except the restoration of the constitution," he said.

He conveyed PTI founder Imran Khan's message that he will not strike a deal with anyone who has committed injustice.

Meanwhile, echoing PTI leaders, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch alleged that the people's mandate has not been recognised in the recent general elections, adding that the PTI’s struggle will not go in vain.

Asad Qaiser reiterated TTAP’s single-minded agenda of ensuring the rule of the constitution and the dominance of Parliament. He mentioned that a concerted campaign was being waged against the judiciary and stressed the need for true leaders, chosen by the people, to be brought to parliament.

Qaiser also commented on the current state of Punjab, describing it as a "police state" and lamenting the constitution being in limbo. He claimed that the elections on February 8 were stolen, which has dented public confidence in the system.
"Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is the only party in the country which is a symbol of federation," he added.

Omar Ayub Khan underscored the necessity of establishing the rule of law and the constitution, without which, he added, it would be difficult to govern the country. He asserted that former prime minister Imran Khan would not make deals to secure his release from prison.

“Our struggle will continue till true freedom in the country. In a democracy, the supremacy of the Parliament has to be ensured,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, addressing the issues of Balochistan, stated that the province is in dire straits due to serious political problems and needs a political solution.

He urged the major political parties to play their political role.

Regarding the possibility of joining the coalition of six opposition parties under the TTAP banner, Baloch mentioned that the matter would be put before the National Party’s central committee, and the decision would be communicated to the TTAP leadership.
