Shiloh Jolie-Pitt drops father's surname, following siblings' lead amidst ongoing custody battle
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has reportedly filed legal paperwork as obtained by TMZ, to change her name, removing "Pitt" and going by Shiloh Jolie. This decision follows her siblings Zahara and Vivienne, who have also chosen to omit their father's surname in various public settings.
While no official explanation has been given for this change, it occurs amidst the ongoing custody battle between Jolie and Pitt, who separated in 2016. The couple is still working out details regarding their divorce, custody of their children, and ownership of their French winery, Chateau Miraval.
Recently, Pitt's security guard, Tony Webb, alleged that Jolie encouraged their children to avoid spending time with Pitt during custody visits. Despite this, a source close to the situation claims to Us Weekly that a resolution is on the horizon, with Jolie expected to retain primary custody of their minor children.
Brad Pitt has expressed his disappointment over the limited time he spends with his children and hopes to mend his relationship with them. While the reasons behind the children's decision to drop their father's surname remain unclear, it adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing family dynamic.
