Jennifer Lopez has addressed the confusion surrounding the "orange drink" she mentioned in a viral video about her childhood bodega order.

The clarification comes after her comments in a 2022 "73 Questions" interview with Vogue resurfaced, where she described her favorite bodega order as "ham and cheese on a roll with an orange drink, if you know you know." This led to widespread speculation on social media about the identity of the beverage.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar on Wednesday, May 29, Lopez explained the nature of the mysterious drink. "Haha, I know that there was a lot of talk about it," she said. "But the orange drink was basically... it’s just a plain orange drink. It came in a little plastic container with a little bit of aluminum foil over it. And it wasn’t called anything except orange drink or grape drink or whatever.”

Lopez further elaborated, stating that the drink came in flavors such as orange, grape, and fruit punch. "And that’s why I said, 'If you know you know,' because you bought it in the bodega and I used to go after school and get that for like... I mean, this is many, many years ago, it was worth 25 cents, and I got it with a bag of potato chips. And that was like my after-school treat for myself," she recalled.

Although Lopez did not remember the brand of the beverage, there has been speculation that it could be Little Hug Fruit Barrels, Sunny-D, Fanta, or Jarritos orange soda. Of these, only Little Hug Fruit Barrels matches her description of the packaging with a foil lid.

In addition to clarifying the orange drink, Lopez recently announced the release of a new flavor in her ready-to-drink brand, Delola. The new Light Margarita cocktail was unveiled in an Instagram video where Lopez described the convenience and elegance of Delola Cocktails, emphasizing their suitability for social gatherings.

"Whether you’re bringing a bottle to a BBQ during the warmer months or entertaining and gifting for get-togethers, the convenience and elegance of Delola Cocktails frees you up so you have more time to spend with friends and family," she said in a statement.

In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Lopez discussed the launch of Delola and its alignment with her lifestyle. "I think as I've kind of gotten to be less of a workaholic and enjoy life a little bit more…it was something that I really, really wanted to do," she said.

The Delola brand offers three other lower-calorie cocktails: Bella Berry, L'Orange Spritz, and Paloma Rosa.
