Jennifer Aniston praises Nicole Kidman's support during emotional times

During a revealing roundtable, Aniston shares how Kidman was her pillar of strength on the set of 'Just Go With It.'

In a recent discussion hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Aniston opened up about the significant role Nicole Kidman has played in her life, especially during challenging times. 

The roundtable conversation, which included stars like Jodie Foster, Brie Larson, Naomi Watts, Ana Sawai, and Sofía Vergara, shed light on the power of female friendships in Hollywood.

"When we did that movie in Hawaii, you helped me out on a lot of hard things that I was going through," Aniston recalled, expressing her gratitude towards Kidman during their time filming the 2011 comedy 'Just Go With It'. 

The roundtable emphasized the value of connecting with other women in the industry, a sentiment echoed by Brie Larson, who noted the rarity of having multiple women on set. 

"It's so true," Jennifer agreed. "Connecting with other women has been a game-changer for me as an actress."

The actors also discussed the emotional and physical toll their roles can take. 

Nicole Kidman spoke about the intense challenges of portraying an abused wife in HBO's 'Big Little Lies'. 

"It's very tough on the psyche," Kidman admitted. "But the idea of being able to go and get a massage or a hot bath or even a pat on the back, just someone touching you and going, 'It’s OK,'" she added, underscoring the importance of support systems.

Jennifer Aniston was visibly moved by Kidman’s words, which resonated deeply with her own experiences. 

"The reach out for each other is so important," Nicole reminded the group, reinforcing the need for mutual support among actresses.

Aniston and Kidman’s friendship began in 2005 at a Golden Globes party and was later cemented on the set of 'Just Go With It' through the efforts of Adam Sandler. 

Recalling their initial meeting, Aniston told Harper's Bazaar in 2011, "I remember meeting this tall, beautiful woman who was there with her mom and dad.

I was completely starstruck, while she was nothing but gracious." 

On set, their friendship flourished, and Aniston was particularly struck by  Kidman’s comedic ability, often forgotten by casting directors. 

"I forgot how funny she could be," Aniston said, to which Kidman humorously responded, "I know, you kept saying to me that I was funny, and I was like, Really? I never get asked to do comedy!"
