Woman allegedly raped at cardiac medical facility
A woman has allegedly been raped at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Shadman, Lahore, after being lured with promises of expedited surgery for her father.
The victim, M*, reported that she was attending to her father, Shaukat Ali, who was admitted at PIC. According to her, a man named Azam approached her at her father's bedside, offering to prioritise her father's surgery.
"I have made such arrangements for three other people from the ward as well," Azam claimed, convincing her to share her contact number.
The next day, Azam called M* and told her that he wanted her to meet the person responsible for arranging the surgery. Following his instructions, she went to the second floor of the hospital, where another man was waiting.
Upon her arrival, the man locked the door and left, and Azam allegedly raped her.
"I did not make a hue and cry to save my reputation," M* stated.
Police registered the case and arrested the suspect after receiving the information. Further investigations are under way.
