Man abducted in broad daylight from Gulistan-e-Johar

Suspects later released the victim near Jamali Bridge and fled with his vehicle

KARACHI:

Armed men abducted a citizen along with his vehicle in broad daylight in the Gulistan-e-Johar area of District East on Sunday.

The brazen abduction was caught on camera and the video has since gone viral on social media.

The video shows a citizen parking his expensive car, bearing registration number BUM 999, near the Continental Bakery in Gulistan-e-Johar.

In the footage, a white sedan stops on the other side of the road. Three suspects, wearing shalwar kameez, exit the vehicle. Two of them open the back door of the victim’s car and enter without hesitation.

Meanwhile, a beggar wearing a red dupatta approaches the citizen with a child to beg but runs away in fear upon witnessing the incident.

The third suspect opens the driver's side door and forces his way inside at gunpoint. The assailants take the driver hostage and drive away with the car.

The suspects later released the driver near Jamali Bridge on Superhighway and fled with the vehicle.

Police have registered a case and handed to the investigation to the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell Police.
