Hollywood icon Kevin Costner recently opened up about a family moment he cherished at the Cannes Film Festival.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on May 22, the 69-year-old actor shared insights into his decision to bring five of his children along to the premiere of his latest movie, Horizon: An American Saga, on May 19.

Costner expressed his desire for his children to witness his work firsthand, outfitting them in tuxedos and dresses for the occasion.

Among his children in attendance were daughters Annie and Lily, both in their 30s, from his previous marriage with Cindy Silva, as well as his younger children, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace, from his marriage to Christine Baumgartner.

However, Costner humorously revealed that the family vacation didn't go exactly as planned. While he envisioned spending quality time together, his sons opted for fishing, and his daughters embarked on a boat adventure, returning late in the evening after enjoying drinks. Despite the slight deviation from the original plan, Costner embraced the moment with humor, remarking on the need for a tour director to navigate their activities.

Reflecting on the premiere of Horizon, Costner recounted the overwhelming response he received, including a remarkable 10-minute standing ovation.

Despite initially feeling uncertain about the audience's reaction, he was deeply moved by their enthusiastic applause, reminiscing about his journey in the film industry and the profound impact of the festival.

Addressing rumors of tears during the emotional moment, Costner clarified that his eyes were merely "full" and emphasized his appreciation for the warm reception at one of the world's most prestigious film festivals.
