KARACHI:

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) took a major decision to prevent copying in the examination. There will be a security barcode in the exam papers to get rid of this menace.

On the other hand, medical teams will be present during the exams in the wake of severe heat waves to provide immediate medical assistance to the students with heat stroke symptoms.

According to the details, it has been decided to provide excellent facilities to students during the intermediate exams starting from May 28. For the first time during the exams, students will be provided with first aid boxes and medications to prevent nausea, fever, weakness, and electrolyte imbalance due to the heatwave.

These boxes will contain painkillers, anti-allergies tablets, glucose, vitamin C, and mineral water, all free of charge. Additionally, ambulances will also be available outside the examination centers. Private institutions will support the board for these facilities.

In this regard, Chairman BIEK Prof. Naseem Memon while talking to The Express Tribune in his office said that special care will be taken for the students during the exams.

Only those colleges are being made examination centers which have required facilities. He said on the prevention of copying in the exam, we have introduced security printing for the first time. Each paper will have a bar code so that all the details of the candidate can be found.

A centre superintendent officer will be assigned to only one college so that he or she can take care of all the arrangements, while the board has also launched an official website, Facebook, and Instagram account where students can now obtain information about the examination process, as well as mark sheets, certificates, and results, at the comfort of their homes.

He said that now all the details will reach the students through this application.
