Sindh Assembly expresses condolence over Raisi's demise

Parties across political divide pay homage to late Iranian president's efforts to unite Ummah

The Sindh Assembly passed a unanimous resolution on Monday, expressing deep sorrow and grief over the passing of Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash. The resolution was moved by Minister of Home and Parliamentary Affairs Zialul Hasan Lanjar.

During the provincial assembly session, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah stated that it is a sad moment for the entire Muslim world. "We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi. I had the privilege of meeting him during his recent visit to Pakistan and was impressed by his vision for regional peace and stability. His martyrdom is a loss for the entire Muslim ummah. We stand in solidarity with the Iranian people and government in this difficult time and will continue to remember his support for the Kashmir cause and his efforts to strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations. His visit to Karachi was a testament to the strong historical and cultural ties between our nations. The Sindh Assembly will always cherish the memories of his visit and his leadership."

Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon also expressed condolences, maintaining that the entire Pakistan is grieving the loss of President Raisi. "We stand in solidarity with the Iranian people and government. His passing is a loss for the entire Muslim world, and we remember his efforts to promote peace and stability in the region."

Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the incident is a loss for the entire Muslim ummah. "We express our deepest condolences to the Iranian people and government. May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant strength to the Iranian people to overcome this tragedy."

Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi expressed deep sympathies for the bereaved families, saying, "The entire Muslim world stands in solidarity with the Iranian people and government. President Raisi's martyrdom is a loss for the entire region, and we remember his efforts to promote peace and stability."

MQM member Nadeem Mirza said his party leadership and assembly members are saddened by the news. "We express our deepest condolences to the Iranian people and government. May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant strength to the Iranian people to overcome this tragedy."

Jamaat-e-Islami member Muhammad Farooq said, "Raisi's martyrdom is a loss for the Muslim world. May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant strength to the Iranian people to overcome this tragedy."

PPP member Imtiaz Pitafi commended President Raisi's visit to Pakistan and his support for the Kashmir cause.

MQM member Muhammad Rashid termed the tragedy a loss for both Pakistan and Iran, demanding an investigation into the incident. "We express our deepest condolences to the Iranian people and government."

All parties passed the resolution unanimously, and the assembly was adjourned until Tuesday at 3pm.
