Vince Staples has revealed that his upcoming album, titled Dark Times, will be his last with Def Jam record label.
The next album, following 2022's Ramona Park Broke My Heart, is set to be released this Friday, May 24th.
The Long Beach rapper has released the new track "Shame on the Devil" along with a split-screen music video.
The video features a close-up of his face on the right side, rapping the song's lyrics, while the left side shows shadows of people cast on the corner of a room.
Following the release of Ramona Park Broke My Heart as a companion to his self-titled 2021 album, Staples collaborated with Earl Sweatshirt and the Alchemist on the track "The Caliphate" in 2023.
During the same year, he also worked with the Alchemist on the track "Lonnie P."
In February, Staples premiered his satirical Netflix comedy series, The Vince Staples Show. The five-episode series features Staples portraying a semi-fictionalized version of himself as he tackles various aspects of life.
Vanessa Bell Calloway and Andrea Ellsworth co-star in the series, with Naté Jones, Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, and Myles Bullock making recurring appearances.
