Taylor Swift's 'Female Rage: The Musical' takes Sweden by storm

The Sweden shows debuted her "Female Rage: The Musical" set, songs from TTPD, and surprise mashups.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour recently made a stop in Stockholm, Sweden, where the pop superstar played three sold-out shows at the Friends Arena from May 17 to May 19. These concerts marked the European debut of "Female Rage: The Musical," a segment of the setlist dedicated to songs from her new album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD).

Swift, 34, not only performed seven songs from TTPD each night but also treated fans to an additional acoustic song from the album: "Peter" on Friday, "Guilty as Sin" on Saturday, and "How Did It End?" on Sunday. The excitement surrounding these performances was heightened by the recent trademark application for "Female Rage: The Musical" filed by Swift's company, TAS Rights Management.

Each show opened with an updated intro mashup incorporating "The Tortured Poets Department" alongside Swift's other album titles. The TTPD era of the setlist ignited with "But Daddy I Love Him" and included a song dedicated to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, titled "So High School." Swift then delivered a powerful sequence of "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" before concluding the TTPD segment with "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart."

Throughout the three shows, Swift also surprised the audience with mashups of her hits, including "I Think He Knows/Gorgeous," "Say Don't Go/Welcome to New York/Clean," and "Message in a Bottle/How You Get the Girl/New Romantics."

Swift's concerts in Sweden were record-breaking, as she revealed during the first show. "You have made this the most-highly attended show ever in this stadium," she announced to the crowd. "You broke the all-time attendance record. You guys are absolutely wild." The previous record of 58,163 attendees was set in 2019 during the Avicii Tribute Concert.

Following her success in Sweden, Swift is set to continue her European tour with shows in Portugal and Spain before wrapping up the European leg in London in August. The Eras Tour will then return to North America for shows in Toronto and Vancouver, followed by additional dates in the United States.
