Detained proclaimed offender killed in ‘encounter’

Injured transferred to Allied Hospital by police in government vehicle

DIJKOT:

A detained proclaimed offender in cases of murder, kidnapping, oil theft and extortion was killed along with an accomplice during a police encounter.

The police said a number of cases had been registered against the deceased.

According to the police, Chak Jhumra SHO Ali Ikram Goraya hd arrested 30-year-old Nabil Arshad and 25-year-old Imtiaz alias Jeju.

Investigation in-charge Sub-Inspector Aamir Shahzad and ASI Mohsin Iqbal were taking the two men for seizing the murder weapon in then night when six men on motorcycles fired at their vehicle near Diyalgarh bridge.

They managed to free the two handcuffed accused but were chased. During the chase amid an exchange of fire, Imtiaz and Nabil were injured allegedly by shots fired by their accomplices.

The injured were transferred to the Allied Hospital by the police in a government vehicle, where they died.

The police tseized a motorcycle and weapons.

According to police sources, the deceased were accused of demanding extortion from citizens and threatening to kill them through social media. One of them

had been arrested by the police a few days ago from Attock.

On the other hand, the relatives of the deceased Imtiaz alleged that police officials had colluded with his opponents and killed him along with the other man.
