Dar’s appointment as deputy PM challenged in IHC

Petition filed by citizen Fahad Shabbir submitted Dar’s appointment as deputy PM violated Article 4 of Constitution.

ISLAMABAD:

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s appointment as the deputy prime minister has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The petition was filed by a citizen Fahad Shabbir who submitted that Dar’s appointment as the deputy PM was in violation of Article 4 of the Constitution. He prayed the court to nullify the notification of his appointment and he should be barred from working in the capacity of the deputy PM till the conclusion of the case.

The petitioner has made the principal secretary to the PM, secretary cabinet division and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar as respondents.
