Man injured in knife attack inside mosque

DASKA:

A knife-wielding man attacked worshipers in the Gujra area near the Bombanwala police station in Daska, injuring one person on Wednesday.

Surveillance footage of the incident surfaced, providing a detailed account of the scene.

The violent episode occurred at the Gujra Mosque as worshipers were leaving after the Asr prayer.

The assailant, armed with a knife, attacked Qasim Shah, inflicting injuries. The commotion quickly drew the attention of villagers, who armed themselves with sticks, shovels and rods in an effort to subdue the attacker.

Witnesses reported that the attacker was highly aggressive, lashing out at anyone who approached him. The villagers managed to surround and eventually overpower the suspect.

In the ensuing struggle, the police intervened to prevent further violence and took the suspect into custody.

Authorities have described the suspect as mentally unstable. He has been arrested and an investigation into the incident is under way.

The condition of Qasim Shah, the injured victim, is reported to be stable.
