Senator smells a rat in timing, alleges targeting of army chief

Independent Senator Faisal Vawda has dismissed the 'Dubai Leaks' as a mere propaganda tactic, suggesting it was an old wine in a new bottle, with the clear intent of targeting the army chief.

Vawda, a former leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), also smelled a rat in the timing of the report's release, particularly as Pakistan endeavours to attract foreign investment.

During a conversation on a private news channel on Tuesday, Senator Vawda raised objections to the selective targeting, pointing out the conspicuous absence of any names associated with the PTI in the leaked documents.

He further asserted that the leaked list included individuals of integrity, insinuating an ulterior motive behind the revelations.

Vawda went on to suggest that the leaked dossier had been manipulated to omit certain individuals, creating an unjust portrayal of property ownership in Dubai.

Questioning the timing of the leak, Senator Vawda pointed out its coincidental release amid expectations of increased global investments in Pakistan and its ally, Dubai.

Moreover, he raised concerns over the timing of the leak following disturbances in the law and order situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
