Kesc protest: Workers demand release of leaders

KARACHI: Hundreds of employees of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) thronged the Karachi Press Club to demand the release of incarcerated union leaders and implementation of the agreement signed in July. The workers first assembled at the KESC head office at Power House, Gizri in the afternoon and then marched towards the press club chanting slogans against the management for its “smear campaign” which allegedly targeted the workers. However, the heavy rain caused them to disperse after only a few minutes of protest.
