Tiffany Haddish reacts to ex Common's new romance with Jennifer Hudson

Tiffany Haddish reminisces about her relationship with ex Common.

Tiffany Haddish has offered her support to her former boyfriend Common after the revelation of his new relationship with singer and actress Jennifer Hudson.

Haddish and Common dated for about a year before parting ways in November 2021.

Appearing on the "Making Space With Hoda Kotb" podcast, Haddish expressed her well wishes for the new couple, stating, "I love Jennifer," and adding, "I hope they're having fun. Girl, please."

Reflecting on the end of her own relationship with Common, Haddish offered a lighthearted analogy.

She likened it to a sudden conclusion of a childhood playdate, saying, "It's like, you remember when you was a kid and you'd be on a play date, and y'all like playing, having a good time, and then all of a sudden, y'all like sliding down the slide, and then you turn around and go, 'Where did they go? Where did they -- where'd they go?'".

Haddish and Common first met on the set of the 2019 film "The Kitchen."

Their romance blossomed in 2020, with a virtual Bumble date sparking their connection during the COVID-19 quarantine.

They were later seen attending a Black Lives Matter protest together before Haddish confirmed their relationship in August 2020 .

The couple announced their split in November 2021, attributing it to busy schedules and a lack of quality time together.

Common elaborated on the breakup during an interview on "Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee: Uncensored," claiming a mutual understanding led to their decision.

He stated that remaining romantically involved wouldn't allow them to fully support each other.

Haddish, however, offered a contrasting perspective in a Washington Post interview last July.

She described their relationship as "the healthiest, the funnest relationship I've ever had". However, she also revealed the breakup wasn't mutual, with Common ending things over the phone.

Meanwhile, rumors surrounding Common and Hudson's relationship began circulating in 2022. The pair were frequently spotted together, holding hands and attending events like basketball games. They finally confirmed their romance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" in January 2024, openly gushing about each other.

Haddish, on the other hand, recently disclosed a commitment to celibacy over the past six months.

Appearing on "On Purpose With Jay Shetty," she explained her desire for selectivity in future partners.

She stated, "I just don't wanna lay down with just anybody, you know? I just feel like, dang, I am the prize and these dudes gotta qualify".

While Haddish expresses well wishes for the new couple, her revelations about their own relationship have also provided a contrasting perspective.
