Dua Lipa received “Best Email Ever” in 2022

The artist is set to headline this year's Glastonbury Festival's on Friday, June 28th.

Dua Lipa has revealed she was informed about her Glastonbury Festival headline slot in November 2022, well over a year before the event.

The singer shared the anecdote on the podcast Dish, hosted by presenter Nick Grimshaw and chef Angela Harnett. 

A clip uploaded to Grimshaw's Instagram account captured Lipa's reaction to the news.

"I got the call November 2022," Lipa recounted. "At the end of my Future Nostalgia tour. I was coming back from Australia and I remember checking my email and it just said 'Glastonbury' and I was, like, 'Oh, this is interesting.'"

She described disbelief upon reading the email . "I opened the email, and I just go, 'Oh my god! I can't believe what I'm reading!' I just had to, like, refresh it a couple of times to see that I wasn't, like, tripping and I wasn't, like jet lag delusion in the moment."

Lipa continued, emphasising the significance of the email . 

"It was just the best email of all time. I don't think I've ever, I never check my email. After that, never looked at my emails ever again, because it was downhill from there."

The news of Lipa's headliner status was officially announced in March 2024 . She is set to perform on the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 28th. 

This year's Glastonbury will also see Coldplay returning for their fifth headline performance and newcomer SZA closing the Pyramid Stage on Sunday.

Lipa also previously mentioned that headlining Glastonbury was something she dreamed of even before the creation of her first album.
