When Melanie Martinez first captured our attention on the third season of The Voice back in 2012, her talent was undeniable. Fast forward to 2023, and Martinez was making headlines for her unique cat-style masks, complete with two sets of eyes.

During her last tour for her third studio album, "The Portals," Melanie introduced her alter ego, 'Cry Baby.'

For several months, Martinez exclusively performed wearing her otherworldly mask, also showcasing a new voice during an interview with SiriusXM in August.

“My makeup artist Laurel spends hours carefully painting a piece of gorgeous art onto a silicone mask I wear every night.

Fans were in for a surprise as the “Pacify Her” singer kicked off her “The Trilogy” tour last night in Seattle without her prosthetics.

Melanie hinted at this new look the day before by sharing a picture without her 'alter ego' for the first time since the beginning of her "The Portals" promotion.

“This show is so beautiful... Thank you for giving me the opportunity to create this experience. It is truly a dream come true for me. I cannot wait to see you guys!! ... & I have a surprise for you tomorrow, Seattle 🐌,” she wrote in the caption.
