Bhakkar struck by severe storm, 8 injured

Trees were uprooted, and multiple feeder trips resulted in a disruption of the electricity supply

BHAKKAR:

After a severe storm followed by torrential rain in Mankera tehsil, Bhakkar district, incidents of roof and wall collapses were reported, leaving 8 injured on Friday.

Trees were uprooted, and multiple feeder trips resulted in a disruption of the electricity supply. In various areas of the district, including Mandi Town, Dajal, Jahan, and Head Firdous, incidents of collapsed roofs and mud walls were reported. According to rescue sources, 8 individuals were injured and promptly shifted to DHQ Hospital after receiving initial medical aid.

Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar, Ali Akbar Bhindar, immediately visited the injured individuals in different incidents and instructed hospital staff to provide free medical treatment facilities.

The district administration, considering the weather conditions, has issued a red alert to ensure the safety of citizens and handle any emergency situations effectively.
