LAHORE:

"The nation will neither forget nor forgive May 9,” said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on the day.

She added, “May 9 is a dark chapter of our national history. The authoritarians, in their lust for power, did what even the enemy could not do. It is very crucial to bring the anti-Pakistan plotters to justice, because their power lust  has crossed the red line of honour and dignity of the nation.”

She said, “The conspiracy and the perpetrators who weakened the national institution have been exposed. Those who violate dignity of the country and the nation for the sake of politics cannot be forgiven. All characters burning in the fire of hatred are about to meet their end.”

The chief minister stated, “Pakistan is everything for us. The nation has come to know every character behind May 9, and has fully recognised their hideous faces. Those who desecrate martyrs do not even know about their exalted status.”

She vowed to never let May 9 happen again. The perpetrators would be seen in the dustbin of history, she added.

Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari said one year has elapsed since the May 9 incidents but not a single accused has been punished so far. The youth segment was used to materialise vested interests. She said the mastermind’s children were sitting in London, while the children of the nation were put on trial in prisons and courts.
