ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has directed the party leadership to move the Supreme Court for recovery of CCTV footages at military installations related to May 9 incidents.

Speaking to journalists outside the Adiala jail, PTI leader Rauf Hassan said that incarcerated founder PTI Imran Khan had directed to file three petitions, including recovery of CCTV footages at military installations related to May 9 incidents, killing of 16 activists on May 09 and former caretaker prime minister’s statement on Form-47, in the Supreme Court.

The PTI leader said Imran Khan entrusted the important responsibility to former president Dr Arif Alvi.
PTI founder has termed the theft of CCTV footage a part of the ‘London plan’. He has also talked about the theft of CCTV footage of his arrest, said Hassan, adding, “We are also filing another petition seeking production of former commissioner Rawalpindi in the court.”

In a recent press conference, the Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Ahmed Sharif, demanded a sincere and public apology from the incarcerated former premier for the events of May 9 and urged him to abandon what was described as "politics of anarchy and hate" to rejuvenate his political prospects.

Major General Sharif dismissed any possibility of negotiation with the PTI founder, categorising him as an "anarchist."

While expressing readiness for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9, Major General Sharif rejected the PTI's assertion that it was a 'false flag operation,' asserting, "May 9 is not a hidden thing, the irrefutable evidence of happenings is also with the public."

However, Imran refused to tender an apology for the May 9 events following the army’s demand.
"Why should the onus be on me to apologize? The apology should be directed towards me," the ousted prime minister said during a casual interaction with reporters at Adiala jail.

On the occasion, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Secretary General PTI Omar Ayub Khan said PTI founder Imran Khan has removed Sher Afzal Marwat from the party’s core-committee and political committee for making controversial statements against Saudi Arabia.

He said that Marwat had been repeatedly warned against violating party’s policy but he made unwarranted statement against the Saudi government and damaged PTI founder’s personal relations with the Saudi government.

Omer Ayub said the political committee will take disciplinary action against Marwat and serve him on the show-cause notice.

To a question on May 09 incidents, he said May 09 and 1971 were planned conspiracies. He quoted Imran Khan as saying, “May 09 was the part of London Plan, which was conceived by a single person and the institution was not the part of it.

The secretary-general PTI condemned workers’ detention by the Punjab government.
