Talhah Yunus drops solo album ‘Shikwa’, teams up with Talha Anjum on track 'Don't Care'
Talhah Yunus, one half of the renowned Pakistani hip-hop duo Young Stunners, has taken a bold step forward with the release of his debut solo album titled Shikwa on Saturday. The artist, known for his lyrical prowess and captivating performances, unveiled the album with a stylish announcement on his Instagram handle.
The album cover, presented in striking black and white, captures Yunus in a dapper suit, exuding confidence as he holds a lit cigarette in hand. However, what truly catches the eye is the gangster-themed aesthetic, with a hand gripping a gun at the forefront of the artwork. Adding a personal touch, the 27-year-old’s glinting belt buckle prominently displays his initials, TY, reflecting his individual identity within the music scene.
In a carousel post on Instagram, Yunus not only revealed the album cover but also shared the track listing, unveiling exciting collaborations. Among the ten tracks featured on the album, one standout collaboration includes a reunion with his Young Stunners partner, Talha Anjum, on the track titled Don’t Care. Additionally, the singer has teamed up with Shareh and JJ47 on tracks Bol and Take Your Time, respectively, promising an eclectic mix of sounds and styles throughout the album.
Yunus's venture into solo territory follows his previous collaborations, including a recent appearance on singer Asim Azhar’s debut album Bematlab, where the duo joined forces on the record Karma. Azhar, showing his support for Yunus's latest endeavor, commented on the Instagram post with enthusiasm, stating, “Anay dou” (let it come), accompanied by a fire emoji, indicating his excitement for the album's release.
The Karachi-based rapper duo hit a milestone in 2023 when they performed at the same event headlined by famous American rapper, Travis Scott. Indian rap artist 'King' took to social media to reveal the exciting news to all hip-hop and rap fans.
Taking to Instagram, King disclosed the names of the first few musicians performing at the Wireless Festival Abu Dhabi that took place on March 11 on Yas Island. The lineup featured various popular hip-hop artists from around the world. Included in the list were none other than our very own boys, Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus sharing the same stage with American rapper Travis Scott!
“Biggest news! Wireless 2023 is back. Spot Divine and me from India and our brothers Young Stunners from Pakistan on the list!” wrote the Maan Meri Jaan rapper.
He then went on to relay his happiness for South Asian artists getting more global recognition. He expressed, “This is some next level achievements for us. We desi boys are coming back on March 11, 2023. Show your maximum love, blessings and support to us by getting tickets!”
