Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated two field hospitals in Bahawalpur and Lahore on Wednesday.

After inaugurating the facility in Lahore, she travelled to Bahawalpur’s suburban area of Abbas Nagar to inaugurate another field hospital. She inspected the mobile health unit and reviewed the facilities, including an ultrasound room, pharmacy and laboratory.

The chief minister went to the home of a villager, Jamshed Arshad, on his invitation.

“It is my firm resolve to ensure progress and uplift of every village of Punjab. I desire availability of a school and a hospital in every village along with nice roads as well as a clean environment,'' she said on the occasion.

CM Maryam Nawaz also inaugurated a 26km road project from Ahmadpur to Jhangra Sharqi.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali discussed issues related to the promotion of inter-provincial coordination and cooperation in different fields during a meeting.

In a message on International Labour Day, the chief minister stated, “The government is fully determined for elevating the quality of life of the labourers along with ensuring their prosperity. We will have to ensure awarding adequate salaries, protection and respect to the labourers.”

She said her government would enforce the Occupational Safety Act for the protection of labourers."
