An electronic evidence system has been launched to manage testimonies and court appearances from police stations.
District and Sessions Judge Shahzeb Saeed inaugurated the system online from the Bahawalnagar City Police Station. DPO Naseebullah Khan was also present.
The system empowers investigating officers to record testimonies online via video link from their police stations. As part of the system, all police stations in the Bahawalnagar district have been interconnected with courts.
Each police station has been equipped with a designated room furnished with IT equipment to facilitate the e-evidence process. To implement the eystem effectively, DSPs have been appointed at the district level.
The district and sessions judge lauded the e-evidence system as a revolutionary initiative.
The DPO pointed out that “this system will alleviate travel difficulties for police employees, leading to significant savings on petrol costs and time”.
