The 2024 Met Gala details have been revealed for the event on the first Monday in May.

The Costume Institute has titled the exhibition "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ticket prices start at $75,000, with tables beginning at $350,000.

Theme:

Vogue reports that the extravaganza will celebrate the new exhibition and the dress code is "The Garden of Time."

About 250 rare items from the Costume Institute's collection will be featured, spanning over 400 years of fashion history, including designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, and Givenchy.

Some fragile garments, like a Charles Frederick Worth ball gown from 1877, will be displayed using video animation, light projection, and other sensory stimulation methods.

Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute, mentioned that the exhibition will be organized around three main "zones"—Land, Sea, and Sky—that pay homage to the natural world.

Who Is Going to the Met Gala?

The 2024 gala's co-chairs are Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny, with honorary chairs Mr. Anderson of Loewe and Shou Chew, TikTok's chief executive.

The guest list is a closely guarded secret, and this year, as in 2023, there are about 400 invitees, according to a spokeswoman for the Costume Institute.

Rihanna has confirmed her presence, and it's likely that Ben Affleck and Elsa Pataky will attend due to their partners being the co-chairs of the event.

The attendance of the Kardashians/Jenners at the Met Gala is noteworthy, with Kendall Jenner being a regular guest. She attended last year's event but did not walk the carpet with her then-partner Bad Bunny, as they had broken up in December.

How to watch:

The venerable fashion magazine announced that Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony, Ashley Graham and special correspondent Emma Chamberlain will host Vogue's livestream event.

It'll be broadcast live across Vogue's digital platforms, including TikTok and YouTube. The red carpet livestream begins at 6 p.m. ET.

For the event Anna Wintour has final say on who does and doesn't get an invite to the event, which raised $22 million last year.
