Beautiful when you see humility: Mahira Khan reacts to Arijit Singh's 'Zaalima' shout-out
A video capturing a heartwarming moment between Bollywood playback sensation Arijit Singh and Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has been making rounds on social media, leaving fans delighted. The clip showcases Mahira enjoying Arijit's musical performance during a concert in Dubai, where the singer was left pleasantly surprised upon recognising the esteemed actress in the audience.
In the viral video shared by Shahzadi Sipra, Arijit can be seen addressing the audience, expressing his genuine astonishment upon spotting Mahira among the concert-goers. Initially unable to identify her, the singer candidly admits, as per News18, "You guys must be surprised, should I reveal. I should reveal it in a very nice way. Can we have a camera there? I have been trying to recognise this person, then remembered I have sung for her."
With great fanfare and humility to match, he continued, "Ladies and gentlemen, Mahira Khan sitting right in front of me. Think about how I was singing her song Zaalima and it’s her song and she was singing and standing and I couldn’t recognise her. I am so sorry. Ma'am gratitude and thank you so much.”
Mahira, known for her captivating performances on screen, graciously acknowledged the famed musician's gesture with a warm smile, further endearing herself to fans across borders. However, she was clearly enamoured by the interaction, given that she later took to Instagram to share a reel highlighting the events of the night.
"I wasn’t meant to be here for this...but...I guess I was. You know what I mean?" said Mahira on Instagram alongside the video. "What a pleasure it is to watch an artist perform...whirling in joy, surrounded by love. But more than that, it’s beautiful when you see humility in an artist because he knows, it isn’t him. He’s just been blessed from up above. Stay blessed, Arijit."
However, this isn't the first time Indian and Pakistani artists have shown mutual love and respect. Sonam Kapoor has never hidden the fact that she deeply appreciates her camaraderie with Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan. From sharing memories on social media to having praised the actor in the past, Sonam and Fawad continue to share a cherished friendship.
Furthermore, singer Abrarul Haq recently revealed that Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh had wanted to collaborate with him. Talking about cross-border musical collaborations, Abrar shared a hilarious mix-up. Shedding light on an anecdote about his manager being a "simple man", Abrar remarked how his manager mistook a 'Honey' reaching out as being a woman.
After numerous calls and back and forth between Abrar and his manager and 'Honey's' manager's adamance, Abrar asked if it was Indian rapper Honey Singh who was trying to get in touch, to which his manager replied in the affirmative. "You don't know who Honey Singh is?" asked Abrar incredulously of his manager. The manager replied, "Honey Singh's manager said the same thing." Abrar said, "I told him that we want to work with Honey Singh!" He added that the two are fans of each other.
Additionally, in the past, Indian comedian Kapil Sharma and Pakistani content creator Nadir Ali have expressed their mutual admiration for each other, with Kapil extending an inviting proposal for a collaboration over a phone call. The heartwarming conversation (shared on Nadir's social media platforms) unfolded as Kapil conveyed his fondness for Nadir's work and proposed the idea of joining forces for a show, envisioning the collaboration to take place in Dubai.
