KU faculty pens letter expressing solidarity with US campus protests

KARACHI:

More than two hundred professors of University of Karachi, including several deans of faculties, senior professors and the President of Karachi University Teachers Society, have sent a signed letter to professors and students of various universities in the United States.

Professors expressed solidarity with Americans' constant protests against ongoing human atrocities in Gaza despite continuous pressure and violence from authorities. They have criticized their government's policy and showed importance of academic freedom.

Message of Karachi University teachers is addressed to more than 40 universities, including Columbia University, New York, New York University, University of Texas, Austin, Yale University, University of South California, Emory University, Atlanta, Ohio University, George Washington University, Indiana University, Arizona State University, protesting Israel's genocide of Palestinians.

Professors of University of Karachi strongly condemned Palestinian genocide by Israel in Gaza, criticized provision of arms by various governments. It is said in the letter that in this struggle for academic freedom, professors of University of Karachi stand shoulder to shoulder with professors of American universities and will continue to raise their voices for a peaceful world and freedom of Palestine.
