Michelle Collins says she’s “still very much in EastEnders” while promoting new movies
Michelle Collins, who portrays the fan-favourite Cindy Beale in EastEnders, has officially confirmed her character's continued presence in the TV show.
This news comes amidst the buzz surrounding Collin’s upcoming film projects, sparking speculation about a potential exit from the long-running soap opera.
During an appearance on The One Show, Collin addressed concerns about her busy schedule impacting her role in EastEnders, “I’m still very much in EastEnders.”
She jokingly referred to EastEnders as her “part-time job,” reassuring hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp that Cindy isn't going anywhere for now.
In the show’s fictional town of Walford, Cindy is navigating life back with Ian Beale while grappling with unresolved feelings for her ex-husband, George Knight, who now runs the iconic Queen Vic pub.
Hinting at upcoming developments, Collin teased that Cindy might be taking a turn for the “badder.”
While Collin remains committed to EastEnders, she is simultaneously working on other films.
In “Stephen,” a film based on true events exploring addiction recovery, she is set to play a ruthless “loan shark” named Max.
She will also star in “Self Storage” – a film portraying the true story of a woman who lived in a storage unit during the COVID-19 lockdown.
EastEnders airs Mondays through Thursdays on BBC One.
