People are making my life miserable: Aiman Khan ‘doppelganger’ not happy with comparisons

The influencer took to her Instagram to shut down comparisons between her and the actor

Social media content creator Mona Liza has gone viral for her seemingly uncanny resemblance to actor Aiman Khan. However, whilst many would be flattered at their face being compared to the touched-up photographs of celebrities, the same cannot be said of Mona, who has been at the centre of a doppelganger storm ever since the photos went public.

As photos of Mona dancing at a wedding spread like wildfire across social media, comparisons and criticisms alike flew in thick and fast. For those assuming that the influencer had deliberately attempted to copy the Ishq Tamasha star, Mona had a fiery comeback ready on her Instagram handle. In an impassioned post, she began by clarifying that she had never deliberately sought any such comparisons. 

“I never said I looked like Aiman Khan,” captioned the seemingly frustrated Mona in Urdu. “People have gone mad and they leave bad comments on my videos because they are jealous.” Appealing to the public to stop flooding her with messages, Mona added, “Stop dirtying up my account. People are making my life miserable with their DMs.”

The outburst had seemingly little effect on a large number of Mona’s followers, with at least one user writing, “You are also cute but you don't look like Aiman Khan.” However, several of Mona’s fans sympathised with her predicament, with one commenter noting, “You really look like Aiman!” as another gushed, “You are even prettier.”

Others, however, were left appalled at the treatment Mona has been subject to ever since the lookalike photographs appeared online and rushed to voice their support. 

“The public made her viral and now they are the ones insulting her,” wrote one user. “So frustrating society where we live in. At least have some manners and stop insulting her looks or anything else. She is the creation of Allah too and beautiful in her own way!! Let her live, people!!” Whether Mona is successful at shutting down the unsolicited negativity surrounding her remains to be seen.
