Pakistan’s regional exports rise 20.6%

China topped the list in terms of Pakistan’s exports to regional nations

ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan’s exports to seven regional countries registered an increase of 20.57% in the first eight months of the current financial year as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Exports to the seven regional countries including Afghanistan, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and the Maldives fetched $2.91 billion, which constituted 14.17% of Pakistan’s overall exports of $20.54 billion during July-February 2023-24, the State Bank reported.

China topped the list in terms of Pakistan’s exports to regional nations. Exports to China surged 42.02% to $1.896 billion in the eight months of FY24 compared to $1.335 billion last year.

However, exports to Afghanistan recorded a decline of 7.68% from $346.52 million to $319.89 million.
