Six Noshki attack victims laid to rest
The funeral prayers for six men who had died in an attack in Noshki on Friday were offered in Chak Fateh Shah, Mandi Bahauddin.
The victims, including Tanzeel, Qasim, Sajid, Abu Bakar and Mazhar were on their way to Iran when they were kidnapped and later killed by armed men.
The victims were in their early 20s and from poor families.
According to local residents, they wanted to go abroad in pursuit of economic opportunities because of poverty.
The bodies were handed over to the families in the presence of Mandi Bahauddin Deputy Commissioner Shahid Imran Marth.
A large number of people, including Gujranwala Commissioner Naveed Haider Shirazi, Mandi Bahauddin District Police Officer Safdar Raza Kazmi and the DC offered funeral prayers.
A companion of the victims, Zahid, who had returned home unharmed, told the media that the armed attackers had forced them to get off a bus and told the driver to drive off.
After the bus moved a few metres ahead, he heard gunshots, he added.
