KARACHI:

A rickshaw driver was killed when unidentified people exchanged fire during a children’s quarrel in Majeed Colony of Quaidabad in Landhi on Saturday.

The deceased rickshaw driver was identified as Mohsin. “My brother was driving his tri-wheeler back home when an altercation between children took a turn for the worse,” Rashid, the elder brother of the victim, told police.

In the meanwhile, people from both sides opened indiscriminate fire, he added. “My brother ran for cover when the firing started, but he was hit by a bullet in his back which proved fatal.” The victim’s wife had passed away three months ago, leaving behind a son.

According to a neighbour of the victim, local elders were subjected to torture by those involved in the shooting.
