Marvel actor Jonathan Majors was sentenced to one year of domestic violence counselling for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The incident led to Majors losing a major role in Marvel's superhero movies.

The Sentencing

The actor must finish a 52-week domestic violence program in Los Angeles, where he resides.

He must also continue his mental health therapy and provide updates on his progress.

Violations or criminal activity could lead to jail time.

Allegations Against Jabbari

During the hearing, Jabbari expressed her concern, stating, "He will do this again. He will hurt another woman. This is a man who believes he’s above the law."

She added, "I had a career and life and body, all of which he’s damaged."

Police arrested Majors in March 2023 for assaulting Jabbari in a vehicle.

The "Avengers" actor denied assaulting Jabbari. His defense team claimed Jabbari was the aggressor that night.

Jabbari accused Majors of battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and malicious prosecution.

Text messages from when they were a couple were presented as evidence. They showed Majors dissuading Jabbari from seeking medical help and threatening to kill himself.

Aftermath

After the guilty verdict, Disney fired Majors from his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He was also dropped by his management, Entertainment 360, and publicity firm, the Lede Company.

Judge Michael Gaffey delivered the sentencing in a lower Manhattan courtroom. This happened almost four months after Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault against Jabbari.
