City Police Officer (CPO) Captain (retired) Muhammad Ali Zia has directed subordinate officers to beef up security arrangements for Chinese nationals working on various projects in Faisalabad.
Chairing a meeting on Monday, he said that it was the first and foremost duty of the police to provide foolproof security to the foreigners.
He said the police would take all possible measures to ensure strict security arrangements for the Chinese engineers working on various development projects in Faisalabad.
He directed the official in-charge for the security of the Chinese nationals and other officers to ensure three-tier security, including the police and private guards during movement of Chinese engineers.
He directed the police officers to monitor the security of boundary walls round-the-clock of factories where Chinese nationals were working in addition to keeping all security gadgets functional, including walk-through gates, CCTV cameras, metal detectors, search lights and barriers.
Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh, SSP Operations Hasan Javaid Bhatti, SSP SPU Colonel (retired) Nadeem, SP Madina Division Shah Meer and other officials attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the police have made stringent security arrangements for Eidul Fitr in the district.
According to the CPO, 647 Eid congregations will be organized in mosques in Faisalabad. As many as 3,566 personnel will perform duties, including 331 assistant sub inspectors, 269 head constables and 2,937 constables, while 11 SIs would monitor the security arrangements across the district. He said teams of the Elite Force and Quick Response Force (QRF) have been deputed for patrolling in sensitive areas.
Special pickets have been erected at all the entry and exit points of the district to keep vigil and carry out thorough checking of suspicious people.
The Dolphin Force and motorcycle squads would remain active to take prompt action against one-wheelers, display of weapons, aerial firing, riots, wall chalking and driving bikes without silencers.
