COAS hosts iftar dinner for Pakistan cricket team

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Monday hosted an iftar dinner for the Pakistan cricket team at Army House in Rawalpindi, the military said in a statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the cricket team underwent and concluded physical training at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) camp in Kakul, Abbottabad.

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi along with other PCB officials also attended the iftar.

COAS while talking with the players wished them all the best in their future endeavours.

The cricketers thanked COAS for the excellent training provided to them at Kakul and the role the army plays in supporting the games in Pakistan.

Rebirth | 5 months ago | Reply I don t know what s worse photos with Bilawal Zardari and his son Mohsin Naqvi or this photo Army and Wapda are actually the only hurdle in promoting sports in Pakistan except for the PSL which wasn t the brainchild of any of these cricket families Burkis or Akmals first cousin Babur Rizwan . Even the ul-Haqs now. At least the Burkis and the Mohammad brothers were worthy of being there even if you disagree are rightfully point out that Imran wasn t there on merit. Even then it wasn t as bad as it is now. Anyway if the army wants to ruin its image when it comes to politics and sports it s probably not a bad idea. They re failing us at both levels. For politics we can probably go back to the caretaker setup but for sports the departments could ve partnered with providing talent to private clubs but they restrict the space for private leagues and the overall commercialisation of sports in Pakistan. Not a good photo op just like the Zardari photo. This man Babar Rizwan has singlehandedly ruined the only sport the country plays but the positive is that it creates room for other sports in the country which again the army and wapda restrict.
