Chance the Rapper and wife Kirsten Corley are headed to divorce after five years of marriage
Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley have announced on Instagram that they're headed for divorce. The couple share two children together; Kensli Bennett, 7, and Marli Grace Bennett, 4.
"After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together," the joint statement read. "God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition."
The exact timeline of the couple's estrangement is unclear; whether they've officially filed for divorce remains unknown. However, TMZ's April 2023 report, where a representative for the GRAMMY winner admitted to marital problems, suggests the relationship was already facing challenges. This followed videos of the rapper with twerking dancers.
Corley may have been subtly responding to the video by posting a Maya Angelou quote titled "Most People Don't Grow Up." Chance the Rapper also alluded to the situation, sharing Bill Burr's comedic take on marriage and the constant process of self-improvement.
Chance the Rapper is currently a judge on NBC's The Voice.
