Two kids kidnapped from school van at gun point

Kidnappers demanded Rs15m ransom, later released the boys in North Karachi

Two young brothers aged six and eight, kidnapped at gunpoint from their school van in the Federal B Area, were released by the kidnappers near Two-Minute Chowrangi, North Karachi.

The boys took a rickshaw to reach home.

The kidnappers riding a car had intercepted the school van and abducted 8-year-old Muhammad Abdullah and 6-year-old Muhammad Ibrahim at gunpoint in Federal B Area Block 19 Al-Noor Society within Samanabad police station limits on Tuesday morning.

The kidnappers also snatched the driver's mobile phone and escaped. The abductors informed the children's parents of the abduction through the mobile phone of the van driver and demanded a ransom of Rs15 million and threatened dire consequences if the ransom money was not paid. The van driver immediately informed the families of the abducted children. The parents of the abducted children reached the Sumanabad police station and registered a case against the unknown abductors. The case was registered on the complaint of the father of the children Kashif Ahmed Niazi. The police started investigation keeping in view various aspects of the incident of the kidnapping.

At the same time, the abductors left the young brothers near Two-Minute Chowrangi in North Karachi and escaped. The kidnapped children took a rickshaw and reached their home. Later, the abducted children were shifted to the SSP Central office.

According to DIG West Irfan Baloch, the police will soon find out all the facts and will be able to arrest the culprits.
