From Black Widow to Dinosaurs? Scarlett Johansson in Talks for Jurassic World
Scarlett Johansson could be roaring into the next Jurassic World film!
The Avengers actress is in discussions to take the lead role in the upcoming 2025 installment of the franchise, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
This new Jurassic adventure will have a script penned by David Koepp, a veteran of the series who wrote the screenplays for the original 1993 Steven Spielberg hit and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Gareth Edwards will direct the film, slated for a July 2, 2025 release, and it's expected to introduce a fresh storyline for the beloved franchise.
While Scarlett's representative declined to comment on these developments (as reported by PEOPLE), the actress did recently reflect on her time as the iconic Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, in the Marvel Studios universe.
During a 2023 Variety interview, she expressed her feelings about leaving the role: “I am sad, of course. I absolutely loved every filming experience I had, working 10 years with Marvel and with that amazing cast, and I love the character Natasha.”
“I have a lot of empathy for her, and it was amazing to build that character over such a long period of time,” she added.
