Eminem, 50 Cent, and Snoop Dogg attend Dr. Dre's Walk of Fame ceremony
Hip hop icon Dr. Dre has been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The legendary producer was accompanied by his long-time collaborators and proteges, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Snoop Dogg.
They were joined by Xzibit and Interscope Records co-founder James Iovine in showing their support during the ceremony held on March 19.
During his acceptance speech, Dr. Dre jokingly commented: "I'd like to thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who felt that I was finally ready to walk in the footsteps of Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent—all of whom got stars before me for some f--king reason. Don't trip, I'm not bitter. It's all good, I'm here now."
He then acknowledged the honour of being alongside his "childhood heroes" on the iconic sidewalk. The 59-year-old expressed gratitude for the chance to pursue his passion, saying "I've been fortunate enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do."
Addressing his fans, he added "I'm incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, most of us have grown up together. At nearly 60 years old, you're still rocking with me and I really appreciate that, which is really good because I'm nowhere near done."
Snoop Dogg also gave a speech honouring Dr Dre; “Now take a look at us, over 30 years later and we are still on the grind in the studio and you still make me do every line 100 times. Still. And I thank you for that, perfectionist. I thank you for being a perfectionist and always pushing me to be great,” expressed the rapper.
