Two killed in Raiwind encounter

Accomplice of suspected robbers escapes

LAHORE:

Two suspected robbers were killed in a police encounter in Raiwind.

Reportedly, a call was made at the 15 helpline by a citizen, Muhammad Zahid, that three men were looting people.

As a police team confronted the men, they resorted to firing.

Two of the suspected robbers suffered fatal bullet injuries in an ensuing exchange of fire, while their third accomplice fled from the scene.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till the evening.

The police said they were investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old shopkeeper was murdered by unidentified men over resisting a robbery in Sattokatla.

The victim was at his store at Ghazi Chowk when the robbers arrived and started looting valuables.

When he offered resistance, the robbers resorted to firing.

The victim died of bullet injuries. The body was moved to a morgue for autopsy.

The deceased was identified as Rizwan Elahi.
