Ayesha Omar has taken to Instagram to share a detailed health update with her followers. The star revealed that she is scheduled to undergo a complex reconstruction surgical procedure for a non-union of her collarbone, medically termed the clavicle.

In a note shared by Omar, her doctor outlined the seriousness of her condition, indicating that the planned surgery would entail a major reconstruction effort. The procedure is expected to involve bone grafting to address the non-union issue effectively.

The note further advised Omar to prioritise rest and diligently follow a rehabilitation regimen for a period of at least three to four months post-surgery. This indicates that the recovery process will require significant time and effort to ensure optimal healing and restoration of function.

Omar also penned a detailed note for her fans and followers alongside the shared image in the post. She stated, "So this happened. Alhamdulillah. At 7 pm, on the first day of Ramazan, March 12 2024. I've had enough of dancing and spending my life with a broken/smashed collarbone."

She elaborated, "For those who don’t know, I broke my collarbone and shoulder blade in a terrible car accident on the Hyderabad highway eight years ago. Driver’s fault. The bone never joined even after a year of treatments and therapy, and the gap kept becoming bigger. After many years of navigating through spasms, discomfort, complications and pain, I finally gathered the strength to go through with this surgery. I also realised that emotional and spiritual healing cannot happen without physical healing. How can I heal the broken parts of me without mending this break completely? It was a very complicated three-hour surgery because my broken bones were trapped in a lot of tissue and muscle."

Omar went on to share, "Keeping it low key at the hospital so no visitors. Third day in the hospital today. Should be back home tomorrow evening Inshallah. Then come and hang with me Karachi peeps. Bone broth, payas, plant-based candies and standup. This message is being typed by a friend. Won’t be able to reply to messages or comments. Only voice notes."

She furthered, "I’m in agonizing pain but Allah is giving me strength. The pelvic bone (that’s where the bone graft was taken from to put in my collarbone) is excruciatingly painful. Dr Shah had to drill deep into both ends of my broken collarbone to find blood and marrow and then insert the bone graft in the middle of it and set it in place with a titanium plate. Can’t walk or put any weight on my left leg. Long road to recovery but I’m looking forward to healing in the next four months. No travelling and no work in front of the camera. Will work on music, ideas, scripts and my brands, Inshallah." Omar also added, "Dr Imran Shah is a superstar. I would’ve trusted no one else to do this."
