Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has responded to the growing concerns raised by the Sindh government regarding the appointment of the chairman of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA).
Sindh Irrigation Minister, Jam Khan Shoro, disclosed details of a telephonic conversation between Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Shehbaz Sharif.
During the call, the chief minister expressed concerns over the appointment of the IRSA chairman.
The provincial irrigation minister stated that PM Sharif has assured the chief minister of withdrawing the notification appointing Zafar Mahmood as the IRSA Chairman.
He also confirmed to Murad Ali Shah his commitment to retract the appointment notification.
Shoro added that CM Murad informed Shehbaz about a prior decision made in a meeting, stipulating that the chairman's appointment would align with the preferences of the provincial members.
