ISLAMABAD:

Despite challenges, a remarkable triumph in education has been witnessed in Gilgit Baltistan.

This was stated in the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2023 National (rural) survey of Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) launched at the Planning Commission of Pakistan.

Despite national challenges, G-B showcased significant advancements.

Grade 5 students in G-B surpassed the national average in both Urdu and English proficiency, with Urdu competency rising from 52% in 2021 to 60% in 2023 and English proficiency climbing from 60% to 66% during the same period.

Contrastingly, at the national level, Urdu proficiency decreased from 54% to 50% and English proficiency dipped from 56% to 54%.

Moreover, G-B achieved an outstanding 94% enrolment rate, the highest across the country next to AJK.

The achievement underscores GB's dedication to providing quality education for all.
