KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court has ordered the Prosecutor General to submit the final challan to the court concerned within four weeks on the petition filed by the Pakistan Peoples Party related to the clash between MQM-P and PPP workers during the election campaign.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto heard the petition. Umair Advocate, the petitioner's lawyer, submitted saying, "The MQM-P workers attacked PPP men injuring many of them besides setting vehicles on fire. Instead of registering our FIR, police registered a case against us on MQM's complaint."

MNA Ahmed Salim Siddiqui, the complainant in the case, said that he is not aware of the FIR. "I was asleep at 1am on the night of the incident and unaware of the signature on the FIR application."

MQM's lawyer Tariq Mansoor Advocate said, "Our worker was killed but no action was taken against the influential accused of PPP."

The investigating officer said that after completing the investigation on the charge of murder, the challan has been sent to the Prosecutor General.
