Isha Ambani’s blouse for brother’s wedding was made from her ‘personal collection’ of jadau jewels

Billionaire’s daughter became the talk of town with her diamond, ruby-encrusted top

The pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar might have officially concluded but the hype of the glamourous affair is yet to die down. From featuring the three Khans of Bollywood busting a move together to a meticulous guide for attendees making rounds on the internet, the last Ambani wedding had everyone under its spell.

Among its countless exhibits of star power and opulence, the sister of the groom Isha Ambani’s one particular outfit has become the talk of the town. While others wore jewellery in the traditional style for the events, the daughter of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, wore a blouse at one of the events made of jadau jewellery from her personal collection.

Encrusted with diamonds, emeralds and rubies among many other precious stones, the ensemble’s designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla took to Instagram to explain the process. Dressing many celebrities for the wedding bash, the duo divulged that that jewellery was from Isha’s “personal collection” and was stitched onto a red fabric as base as per their fashion concept.

“Isha gave all the little bits of jadau jewellery that she owns,” Sandeep said. “There’s polki, ruby, diamonds, emeralds, you name it, it’s there.” In the accompanying caption to the post, the making process is discussed in more detail.

“Some of the pieces belong to her personal collection and new jewels were also sourced from Gujarat and Rajasthan especially to be stitched onto the garment,” the caption reads. “The precious ornaments were dismantled and reinvented into couture where each jewel was first placed on hand-drawn paper patterns. After rounds of artistic experimentation, different stitches of gold and silver Zardozi work were infused with the jewellery pieces to create the wearable work of art.”

The pre-wedding festivities kicked off with a concert by Rihanna, her first in almost seven years. In the subsequent days, Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan stole the show as they danced together on stage. Diljit Dosanjh also gave a live performance at the festivities, followed by international popstar Akon.
