An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has granted physical remand of Mir Owais, a member of the banned Tehreek-eTaliban Pakistan (TTP), to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) until March 6.
Mir Owais is accused of planning a terrorist attack and possessing weapons and explosives. He was presented by the CTD before the ATC on Friday. The investigating officer informed the court that Owais was arrested during an operation in Naval Colony.

He was found in possession of one kilogram of explosives, a suicide vest, a hand grenade, and a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Police assert that the suspect was plotting a terrorist attack within Karachi and is also implicated in previous attacks on FC check-posts and shrines. The court granted physical remand of the banned TTP member to the CTD until March 6.
The investigating officer was ordered to present a progress report during the next hearing.
