I've never met my biological father: Sahiba Afzal talks childhood after Nisho's divorce

Actor reflects on her family in resurfaced interview, delves into close bond with late stepfather

In a surprising revelation, Pakistani actor Sahiba Afzal, daughter of the legendary actor Nisho, disclosed that she has never met or seen her biological father. The candid admission comes in a resurfaced clip from when Sahiba appeared as a guest at veteran actor Sajid Hasan’s talk show last year.

Delving into her family history, she stated, “I've never met my [biological] father; my mother had separated from him before my birth.” The revelation provided a glimpse into a lesser-known aspect of the actor's personal life who further shared, “No one’s asked me this before.”

Despite the absence of her biological father, Sahiba spoke warmly about her stepfather, Jamal Pasha. She emphasised the strong bond they shared until his last breath. “My stepfather, whom I never like to address as a stepfather because he is above the biological one for me, gave me so much love and affection,” Sahiba expressed.

“He is not in this world anymore, May Allah bless him with the highest ranks in Jannah. He came to my life when I was only ten years old,” the actor divulged. “It has been five years to his death, and till his very last moment, we shared a great bond. He was more like a friend to me, whom I shared all my secrets with, which I didn’t even with my mother. Because of his presence, I never felt that void of a father in my life,” she continued.

Sahiba provided additional details about Jamal, mentioning that he was once a pilot by profession and also worked for TV channels.

In 2022, the actor drew attention after she talked about raising two sons, Ahsan and Zain, with husband and fellow actor Afzal Khan, better known as Rambo John. In a morning show episode where the couple appeared together as guests, Sahiba reflected on the difficulty of being a woman, and how she is thankful for the fact that she has no daughters.

In a segment where fans sent in questions for the guests, Sahiba was asked whether she wishes she had a daughter. To this, the actor responded, “I always wanted sons. I am thankful for the fact that God did not give me a daughter in this day and age, because daughters face too much pressure. Their whole lives they never get their own way. First, it's the parents’ pressure, then it's the husband’s pressure. She has no will of her own. Girls don’t have a life of their own.”
