Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi on Thursday issued a policy statement, expressing the government’s congratulations to the nation on the successful conduct of the general elections 2024.
Solangi commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders that contributed to the peaceful and transparent electoral process.
In his statement, Minister Solangi highlighted the historic significance of the day, stating, "Today the nation has made another history in our democratic journey." He applauded the overwhelming participation of people from all corners of Pakistan, emphasising their commitment to democracy, national responsibility, and belief in the power of their vote.
The high voter turnout was deemed not only a testament to the strength of Pakistan's democracy but also a crucial milestone in the country's history. Solangi expressed gratitude to all individuals who played a role in the success of the democratic exercise, extending special thanks to international media and observers, local media, and journalists in the field for their role in ensuring transparency and credibility globally.

Acknowledging the vital role of security forces, the interim minister praised the armed forces, civil armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civil administration for their unwavering commitment to providing a safe and conducive environment during the electoral process. Their diligence, he noted, ensured that the polling process unfolded smoothly without any major incidents.
Solangi also commended the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for its exemplary conduct and management of the election process. He highlighted the commission's tireless efforts and dedication to upholding democratic values, ensuring free and fair elections. The professionalism and integrity demonstrated by the ECP, according to Solangi, played a pivotal role in strengthening public confidence in the electoral process.
Taking a solemn moment, Solangi called on the nation to raise hands in prayer for those who were victims of terrorist incidents on election day. He expressed heartfelt condolences, wishing eternal peace to the departed souls and urged the nation to unite and benefit from their sacrifices.
The interim minister called upon all citizens to pledge continued support for and strengthening of democratic institutions. He emphasised that through collective efforts, Pakistan would build a stronger, more prosperous, and democratic future for generations to come.
